In August 2005 Lynda Larsen was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not only does this disease exact an emotional and physical toll from surgery and rehabilitation, it can also present an enormous financial burden for survivors who are unable to work and/or have inadequate insurance.

Lynda is fortunate to be blessed with a large support network of family, friends and an understanding employer, so she is coping well. Today Lynda has successfully completed surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and physical therapy and is well on her way towards recovery.

However others are not always so fortunate. Early on in her treatment it became apparent to Lynda that without adequate financial support many patients are forced to choose between their care and the necessaties of life. There are many fine organizations seeking a cure, and one day there will be, however for these women in treatment today the need is now.

Lynda decided to do something to raise money and awareness. She and her husband own Café Cartago, a specialty coffee roaster in Denver, Colorado USA. Together they developed Bald Lady Coffee from which profits are donated to support women-in-need during their treatment.

Pricing is just $10.95 for a 12oz bag, available in regular and decaf, drip grind and whole bean. This is a premium specialty coffee so it is well worth the price.

If you are thinking of giving Bald Lady Coffee as a gift, remember that this is the gift that gives twice, your gift goes to your loved one and to a deserving survivor.
